Our wish? That you no longer have any doubts about who's right for you. They all have their own character, you all have yours. As if by mutual agreement, an exchange, a seduction, between you and him.
He is a color, a cut, details, a character, a pair of jeans. You are a citizen, an entrepreneur, a student, a mother, a partner, a talent, a sister, a warrior, a woman. You may not be any of these things, but you surely have a story to tell with one of our 7 Jeans .
This is the experience that Emilie , the second girl to have taken part in the game after Paloma Coquant , agreed to lead . A Belgian entrepreneurial mother, at the head of a jewelry brand, a podcast, with many other projects. We met her over a couple of coffees, she talked about her daily life, the prerequisites of a good pair of jeans to face it. She chose two. They chose themselves. One thing is certain, she inspired us a lot, we hope that her story will inspire you just as much.
Between two Brussels-Paris trains, two nights at the Hoxton Paris, and a few photos in which she chose to wear our Girlfriend Jeans and our Carrot Jeans : Emilie spoke to us about her very simple relationship with fashion and her entrepreneurial spirit. All of this, of course, with a macchiato in hand.
Hi Emilie! Where do you spend most of your time?
I live in Brussels, it's a very welcoming city, green, trendy, it's not a stressful city! I lived in Paris for 4 years. Today I go there at least twice a month for work, and to see my father who lives there. It's really my second city .
What are your jobs or activities?
I'm an entrepreneur. I founded Thea Jewelry, a custom and ethical jewelry brand, 10 years ago. This adventure also led me to launch a dedicated podcast two months ago: "Stories and Stone." I launched an IGTV channel on Instagram called "Inspire," where I chat every Friday with people with unusual backgrounds. And finally, I do digital coaching for young startups: that's my initial training.
What does entrepreneurship mean to you?
It's part of my upbringing, it's a fairly natural approach.
Before, I worked with my family in an entrepreneurial spirit, so it was obvious to have a project of my own. In fact, it was a need. A need to create.
How do you manage your personal life with such a pace?
At its simplest. I don't ask myself too many questions, my life is like that: I live at 100 miles an hour and that's how I'm happy. My days are never the same, and I juggle activities, the 3 kids and time for myself. I always keep the weekends for my family life, it's absolutely crucial.
What causes are close to your heart?
I am a mother and I am sensitive to everything related to children. I am an ambassador for Memisa Belgium , an NGO which fights in particular against maternal and infant mortality.
I volunteered for Make a Wish , an association that grants the wishes of children aged two and a half to eighteen who are or have been seriously ill . Finally, I regularly speak out about violence in general: verbal, sexual, psychological: the subject is a burning issue.
What do you think is the most important quality of a Jean?
I just want it to be comfortable
If you had to wear it with an outfit?
I'm a big "Sweatshirt and sneakers" kind of girl, I go for comfort so I can move around however I want, all day long! It's definitely my style. In the evening when I go out, I like to add a nice vintage jacket, but I always keep my sneakers on. I've really stopped worrying about heels. For accessories, I wear a lot of small, discreet jewelry.
Why did you choose boyfriend jeans ?
It fits perfectly with my everyday look. I wear it a lot, it's very comfortable and a bit street, even if I don't define my style as such.
