You're embarking on the adventure of cleaning your pants at your own risk. Luckily for you, we think, design, and produce pants, but we don't stop there. We'll also guide you through to their maintenance. We start, you continue. Once they're in your hands and with our advice, it's up to you to take care of them. That's why we're sharing the golden rules of maintenance with you in this article, with a bonus focus on jeans. These tips apply to our pants just as they do to others.

First of all, we think it is essential to remind you of the few rules for machine washing.
01.
Sort your laundry according to color,
on this point, we are not telling you anything new.
02.
Turn your laundry inside out
and especially your jeans to avoid bleaching the fabric.
03.
Close the zippers.
04.
Do not overload your machine,
a tip to save you from a dirty machine and unspinned laundry.
05.
Lean towards the right temperature,
it goes without saying.
Now it's time to get down to business. We're putting urban myths about clothing care behind us and giving you real advice. Tips for different fabrics, different pants, and different legs.

MAINTAINING YOUR CHINO

First tip and not least: wash chinos twice.
A first wash, alone, cold and inside out. Be sure to choose a minimum spin cycle. Then, for subsequent washes, use an anti-fading cloth.
Then, away from the sun and the wind, let it air dry, always upside down. Tumble drying is prohibited. The advantage: it maintains the color over time.
The final step: ironing. It's important to iron your chinos inside out. We recommend washing them as little as possible. The casual look of their color and fabric will appear over time and with repeated washing, making them a unique piece.

Alert !
More textured and therefore more fragile fabrics require a cold wash, on a “delicate” cycle.

MACHINE WASHING FLANNEL CARE

We're moving into winter with the care of the famous wool flannel. A fabric that allows us to have elegant and warm pants but which requires special attention. Fortunately, today, thanks to their durable Ripstop fabric, it's now possible to machine wash them. A big step for your legs.
What makes it different: it can be washed at a maximum of 30°C and ironed.
It is not easy but it is necessary to iron it by placing a cloth or a tea towel between your iron and the flannel .
You probably guessed it: forget the dryer .

WASHING YOUR SWIMSUIT

Knowing how to wash your swimsuit properly: not easy.
The first step, which we often forget: rinse your swimsuit in clean water after swimming to remove the chlorine and salt that dull the fabric. A simple step that allows you to keep your swimsuit longer, with colors that remain just as bright.

As for the washing itself: 30°C, delicate cycle, minimum spin and that's it.
Always with the aim of maintaining the fabric and color as it was in the first days, ditch the dryer and opt for air drying.
Finally, there's no need to iron your swimsuit. If you still want to smooth it out a bit, just use the steam from the iron, but never place the iron directly on the fabric. You risk making it shiny.
CARING FOR YOUR JEANS
Between selvedge jeans , faded jeans, and just jeans, we sometimes lose track. They're not all washed the same way. In this little denim spotlight, we'll tell you everything. Denim care will no longer hold any secrets for you.
First of all, jeans are washed less frequently , and it's important to put off the first wash as long as possible. You can even wash them alone for the first three washes. Before putting them in the washing machine, you can also brush them to remove lint and dust.
The Selvedge Jean Interview
The ancestral fabric of these jeans, woven in an artisanal way, cannot be washed in the machine, but by hand.

01.
Soak it in warm water with a capful of detergent for 10 to 15 minutes.
02.
Dry it inside out and air dry. Again, tumble drying is not recommended.
03.
Avoid wearing it with light-colored clothing. The color may bleed a little at first.
Caring for Classic Jeans

Whether organic cotton or not, jeans, like chinos, can be washed twice. The first wash is inside out and cold. Use a minimum spin cycle. Then, for subsequent washes, use an anti-fading wipe.
Then you'll know the drill: dry your jeans inside out and in the open air. Iron them inside out to avoid any limescale or shine.
The best thing to do is to hang your jeans so that there are no creases.
LAST MINUTE TIP
White vinegar to preserve the color of your pants?
This is a tip that comes to us from our grandmothers, a little recipe that can help you fix the colors of your pants and thus make them last a long time.
In reality there are two ways to proceed with this recipe: with white vinegar and/or with coarse salt .
With white vinegar
Soak your pants in a container filled with cold water
Pour one cup of white vinegar and one cup of coarse salt into the container
Leave to drain for 1 to 2 hours
Rinse with cold water and let stand (again) in a basin of cold water
If the water becomes colored after this step, repeat all the previous steps. Only then can you machine wash your pants with a liquid detergent without bleaching agents.
With coarse salt
The first step is to weigh your pants (you'll soon understand why)
Prepare a basin of warm water and coarse salt. The amount of coarse salt corresponds to half the weight of your pants (there you go)
Then let it soak for half a day, stirring from time to time.
Then, rinse your pants
Just like with vinegar, if the color runs when rinsing, repeat the experiment again.
