One Girl, Two Jeans: The Story of Paloma Coquant

The story of Paloma Coquant

Designed and created to bring out the best in you and stand up to the test of your hectic lives, our women's jeans are made to accompany you, day and night, year after year. It's the least you can expect from a timeless piece: to be your special partner.

Our wish? That you no longer have any doubts about who's right for you. They all have their own character, you all have yours. As if by mutual agreement, an exchange, a seduction, between you and him.

He's a color, a cut, details, a character, a pair of jeans. You're a citizen, an entrepreneur, a student, a mother, a partner, a talent, a sister, a warrior, a woman. You may not be any of these things, but you surely have a story to tell with one of our 7 Jeans.

This is the experiment that Paloma, a multi-talented woman who doesn't count her hours, agreed to lead. She was the first to take part. We met her over a couple of coffees, and she talked about her daily life and the prerequisites for a good pair of jeans to face it. She chose two. They chose each other. One thing is certain: she inspired us a lot, and we hope her story will inspire you too.

Paloma is on familiar ground. Here at home, Paris is her city and jeans are her addiction. We talked about her commitment, her relationship with others, and the essential qualities, according to her, of a truly good pair of jeans. She chose the Raw Straight Jeans and the Ecru Flare Jeans.

Encounter.

Hello Paloma, what places are dear to your heart?

Paris is definitely my hometown! My hometown is Montmartre, the neighborhood I've lived in for the last 10 years. I also lived in New York for two years; it's kind of like my second home.

Paris and you, it seems like a beautiful story?

I am imbued with the energy of Paris. In one day in this city, you can experience 1,000 stories, 1,000 energies. It's a city with something very authentic that can't be explained, but that I feel in all the places I like to go. I never live the same day twice.

What are your jobs?
I am first and foremost an actress, I also did photography for a long time and recently, I created an association to help families in need.
Can you tell us more about this association?

I've always liked to take care of others. This association is called Mam Collecte Solidaire , the idea is to bring a little bit of sweetness to struggling mothers. For that, I organize collections.

Is being engaged important?

Extremely. Obviously, I donate to charities that are close to my heart, but above all, I try to talk to people on the street, to give a smile to someone who needs it. For me, that's also what being committed is all about. Basically, when you do good for others, you're doing good for yourself first and foremost.

So your positivity is really unfailing?

No, obviously. But I try to tell myself that in front of me, there is someone with their own problems, their own story. When I don't connect with someone, I simply tell myself that their story isn't compatible with mine. I cling to the things that make me happy: children, animals, nature, food, life, in other words.

And your personal life, how does it fit into such a busy daily life?

When my day begins, I'm on autopilot! I drop my son off at daycare, I do my workout, and I go to appointments. It allows me to walk a lot; I love doing everything on foot, with music in my ears! Ultimately, it's precious time for me. It stimulates my creativity, I feel alive.

Ecru flare jeans

Let's talk about rags: what do you expect from a pair of jeans?

First of all, I have to say it: I ONLY wear jeans. They're my passion. I find them super feminine, super elegant, super street, super comfortable. A pair of jeans says a lot about a personality. I even think they can define a person. With just one pair of jeans, you can be many people at once, and I love that idea.

How did you choose from our 7 jeans?

First, you have to find the jeans that suit your body type. We girls (and many guys too) are never happy with what we have. But there is ALWAYS a cut of jeans that suits us, they were created for that. The two models I chose fit my look perfectly: they go just as well with boots as with sneakers. And they fit my body type: they are high-waisted and I only wear that. I chose a black model and a white model because they go with everything, everywhere, all the time!

“I hesitated for a long time before agreeing to represent one of the women @lepantalon . I hesitated because since I had my son, I've been struggling with the kilos I can't lose, these thighs I can't stand, this stomach that has lost its abs but has grown in love. To tell the truth, I've always struggled with my own body.

And then one day I said to myself: if these women are asking me to work with them and embody the image they have of women, it's because I may not always have a fair and kind view of myself and that others do it for me. Our body changes, whether we go from adolescence to adulthood, or when we carry a child, when we are unhappy, or too happy, when we are menopausal, when we age. Our body is our best ally, it is with it that we go through all the trials, it is also the first to drink in happiness or less pleasant moments. 100 years ago, we women with curves, we would have been the most beautiful, the most represented. But the most beautiful for whom? The most beautiful for what? We are all beautiful. From 34 to 40 to 52. The important thing is to tell yourself that our body belongs to us, and that we will always be sublime in someone's eyes, with our stories and the marks that time leaves.”

What's your outfit for a night out in jeans?

At any time of day, I'm a fan of jeans, a T-shirt, and a jacket. When I go out or when I have guests, I don't overdo it; I take out my pretty heeled boots. We may have created all the dresses in the world, but there will never be anything sexier than a beautiful pair of jeans.

See you in the next story!
