Cette pièce était portée par les marchands et pêcheurs au XVIIIe siècle, en Bretagne. L'idée initiale ? Un pantalon pratique sans boutons centraux, ce qui permettait de minimiser les risques d'accroc lors des diverses manœuvres. C’est ainsi qu'est venue l’idée d’un pantalon à rabat sur le ventre avec double boutonnage sur les bords.
