Ironing is the final step in maintaining your pants. Whether it's mandatory or not, it still requires a certain amount of know-how and, above all, a deft hand. That's why in this article, we'll share our tips for ironing your pants without a hitch. Don't worry: you don't need a master's degree in ironing to put on your best pants without a single crease.
Before ironing your pants:
1.
We turn our pants inside out
2.
We make sure of the exact material of our pants: cotton, denim, flannel…
3.
We check whether the fabric can withstand high temperatures
4.
We choose the right temperature on our iron
Once this first step is done and if your pants are heat resistant, then you can get out your ironing board for the big moment.
STEP BY STEP
Our advice: don't jump straight into the legs. We proceed area by area, starting with the smallest: the pockets . After checking that your credit card isn't lying around inside, of course.
We then attack the belt .
Then at this point you can start the legs . If you don't have an ironing crease to mark: flatten the leg all the way down, make sure there are no small creases hidden underneath, align the seams and get started. Everything should go well.
If, on the other hand, you are ironing your favorite suit pants or flannel pants, where the crease is important, you can directly place the legs according to their creases, one on top of the other, well flattened. You will go faster and obtain a more than perfect fall .

But it's not all as simple as it seems. There are still a couple of small details you need to be wary of, especially regarding the main thing you need to know: your iron or steam generator.
1. Watch out for limescale
We sometimes prefer to iron with steam for fear of damaging the fabric, but steam can leave limescale particles that will stain your trousers directly. To avoid any problems, cleaning your iron regularly, especially with white vinegar, remains the best solution.
2. The “Pattemouille” or damp cloth
To avoid shining your beautiful legs, you can also use a damp cloth. A strange name but a very useful and simple tip to put in place. It is simply a slightly damp cloth, which you must place between the iron and the pants you are ironing. This fabric must be cotton , preferably seamless and white in color , without being too thick.
This tip is especially useful for dark-colored pants or pants made of delicate materials like velvet. Others simply use a dry cloth between the iron and the fabric; it's up to you to decide which tip works best!
