1. Touch up its length
If your chinos are too long, you have two options. You can wear them cuffed for a more casual look, or you can shorten the length for a perfect fit.
If you choose to have your chinos re-lengthened, you'll need to go to an alterations specialist (or ask your magic mom), and that's where our first tip comes in: wash them once before having them altered.
Indeed, it is possible that after the first wash it may lose a few millimeters in length. The material tends to shrink slightly. This way, you will be sure to get your pants back to the right length!
2. Washing
A crucial step in the life of any garment: washing.
If you want to keep, wear, and live with your chinos for as long as possible, you need to take care of them. Here is our washing checklist:
- Cold or at 30°C maximum
- On the inside of the pants
- With a detergent without bleaching agents
- Spin at 600 rpm max
Please note: your home's water may contain a lot of limescale, which can cause white marks after washing (especially on dark colors). You can easily install a limescale filter at the entrance to your home; it's good for your clothes, your linens, and your skin!
3. Drying and ironing
When it comes to drying your chinos, nothing could be simpler: air dry them, upside down (avoid direct sunlight).
Do not use a tumble dryer, in fact you can even sell it because it is not good for any clothing!
You can iron your chinos if you wish, remember to do it on the reverse side of the pants.
4. The little extra
As usual we couldn't let you leave without our advice too.
As you know, we are constantly improving our manufacturing processes in order to always offer you the best possible quality. Over time, we have optimized our way of dyeing the fabric of our Chinos, the fabric is dyed in rolls of several hundred meters before manufacturing the pants. This process uses the latest technological advances, and while remaining very environmentally friendly, it allows for better fixation of the color on the cotton threads. However, a dyed cotton fabric will always tend to lose the depth of its color over time with wear and washing, this is also what will make your Chinos unique!
The real secret to keeping your pants as long as possible is to alternate them. We can't stress this enough, but never wear your pants for more than two days in a row. They need to air out.
Alternating will also allow you to wash your pants less regularly, and therefore subject them to less frequent damage.
You now have all the information you need to take great care of your chinos. If we haven't answered all your questions, don't hesitate to ask us on social media or in store! We'll be happy to help 😃
